Teetering
Teetering, 2021
archival giclée print
she's caught in between
wanting to flee
into the sea
and rolling back to earth
with the sun vibrating
off her melanin
activating her serotonin
wanting to feel again
Teetering was created during a deeply transitional time in my mental health journey. This piece lives in that in-between space—the push and pull between escape and grounding, heaviness and light, numbness and feeling.
It’s about learning how to sit with both. Not fixing, not forcing—just allowing the contradictions to exist and slowly find harmony.
This work reminds me that healing isn’t linear. It’s a constant return. A recalibration. A practice of finding your way back to yourself, again and again.
Originally created using mixed media on recycled cardboard, this print carries the same rawness and warmth of the original piece.
